We’re calling for expressions of interest for our 2024 season!

New Players is a small theatre group, and we’re passionate about bringing great productions to life. New Players is known for doing great old-school comedies, but in more recent years, we’ve turned to more modern comedies with a twist – with a particular focus on New Zealand playwrights.

If you’ve got a play you’d like to stage, or you’d like to turn your hand to directing, we’re keen to hear your ideas. Email us your ideas or scripts for review by 31 January 2024.

The play for our 2024 season has not yet been decided, so we’re calling for expressions of interest. We’re open to all ideas – not just New Zealand comedies! We’ll be harking back to our more traditional suburban roots for our 2024 season, with our production to be staged at Linden Community Centre, Tawa.

Auditions are booked for Sunday 19 May, and the season will open on Friday 13 September 2024. Our seasons run for two weeks with 9 performances in total. We’ll be performing on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights of each week, with an additional matinee performance on Saturday 14 September.

Rehearsals will be at Newlands Community Centre, and the production will be at Linden Community Centre, Tawa.
